An Act to amend the Indian Act.

 

[Assented to 13th August, 1958.]

 

 

HER Majesty, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate and House of Commons of Canada, enacts as follows:

 

1. Section 12 of the Indian Act is amended by adding thereto the following subsection:

“3) Subparagraphs (i) and (ii) of paragraph (a) of subsection (1) do not apply to

a person who

1. pursuant to this Act is registered as an Indian on the day this subsection comes into force, or
2. is a descendant of a person described in paragraph (a) of this subsection.”
